Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an review of allegations of questionable actions towards young women.

The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
