This young athlete has considerable social media following
The young golfer can count on numerous high-profile backers when she makes her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, obtained a sponsor's invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several golf courses and regularly plays against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially told me to play and relax," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, Kai has played in only three events in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
But she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive individual. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of most prominent players in the sport at the competition, such as second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that involving Kai exposes golf to different demographics, specifically among the next generation.
The young star boasts millions of followers and recently launched a personal fashion and living brand.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
